Frequently Asked Questions

What types of clients do you work with?
I work with children, teens, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, OCD, emotional regulation, school or behavior challenges, and sports performance. I also support parents and families in creating consistent strategies at home and school.

What is your background?
I’m a former special education teacher and now a licensed professional counselor. My background in education helps me bridge the gap between school and home while my therapy training allows me to provide evidence-based treatment for behavior and mental health.

What therapy approaches do you use?
I specialize in:

  • Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT) for OCD and anxiety
  • DBT skills for emotional regulation
  • Sports psychology techniques for performance and focus
  • Behavioral strategies for school and home consistency

Do you work with schools?
Yes! As a former educator, I understand the importance of school collaboration. I help parents communicate with teachers, provide behavioral strategies that work in the classroom, and support students in feeling more confident at school.

How do I know if my child needs therapy?
Some common signs include:

  • Frequent emotional outbursts or meltdowns
  • Difficulty with transitions or schoolwork
  • High anxiety or constant “what if” worries
  • Struggles with friendships or self-esteem
  • Behavior changes at home or school
  • If you’re noticing these, therapy can provide both your child and your family with tools that really help.

Do you offer parent support?
Absolutely. I believe parents are the most important partners in the process. I provide coaching and tools so you feel confident supporting your child outside of session.

Do you only see children?
No! While I love working with kids and families, I also see adults for anxiety, OCD, and life stressors, as well as athletes who want to strengthen their mental game.

Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance at this time. Many clients choose to pay privately for the flexibility, privacy, and individualized care it provides. I can provide a superbill upon request that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

How do I get started?
You can reach out through my email or give me a call. We’ll set up a free consultation call to see if we’re the right fit and talk about your needs and goals.

Still have questions?
Feel free to reach out—I’d love to connect and see how I can support you or your family.
